Mayor Hermanubis appointed him to be a counter to Byron’s impulsive nature. Despite being intellectual opposites, Alcatraz considers Byron his best friend. Alcatraz was present when New Alexandria was destroyed. He lost his legs in the destruction, and was rescued by Eusiamius.
