Overview

When you enter the puzzle, you find yourself in a long room with a red emitter on the far end, and a connector available to you. There is a red receiver to the right next to a blue door that leads to the second room which is in a curved L shape. In that room, you find a rail drone and another connector. To the left is a room with two purple barriers on facing walls, that leads to a fourth room with a red receiver. This receiver controls a blue door to a tiny room with an angled fan in it. The fan points to a room with the progress wheel. When the red receiver is deactivated, the blue door is closed and the fan is active. When the red receiver is activated, the blue door opens, but the fan deactivates.

Hints

A basic hint:

[ hint ]
Since the name of the puzzle is Nuisance, you have to figure out a way to have the equipment interrupt something else

If red receiver isn't getting enough time to activate:

[ hint ]
If you depend on the rail drone to connect the red receiver (by placing the connector on top of the rail drone, for example), that does not give enough time for the receiver to activate. This is not a question about angles or positioning, there isn't enough time.

If you're wondering how to get around the problem of not having enough time to activate:

[ hint ]
Think about what needs equipment needs to sustain for a while and what can be instantaneous. Is there a way to position the connectors so that the thing that needs to be sustained remains on for most of the time?

If you need a more obvious hint about how to keep a sustained connection:

[ hint ]
You should not activate the rail drone from outside the second room.
