Puzzle elements

Overview

To reach this puzzle, make your way to the front entrance for puzzle 4, but instead of entering, follow the road to the left. After crossing some broken rocks on shallow water, you will arrive at this puzzle.

When you enter the puzzle, you find yourself in a little room with a grate wall on the left blocking access to the progress wheel. On the right side is a purple barrier to the first room downstairs, which contains a jammer. A blue door leads to the second downstairs room, which is circular in shape. In the center is a detachable fan pointed straight upwards.

The ceiling of the room is shaped in concentric circles, alternating in concrete and grills. There is long grill door in the center which is currently open, only about narrow enough to let the player through. Near the ceiling, at the far end is a red emitter.

Upstairs, the first room you reach through this gap has a teleporter in the corridor. There is a pressure plate, that when pushed, opens a concrete section of the floor with a grill base. Ahead is a blue door that leads to the second upstairs room. In this room there are two pressure plates, and they open a central grill door that allows the player to drop downstairs to the third downstairs room.

In the third downstairs room is an accumulator on top of a pressure plate. The pressure plate controls the grill door on the ceiling of the second downstairs room. There is also a red receiver that controls access to the progress wheel.

Hints

A basic hint:

[ hint ]
Since the name of this puzzle is Minimalism, you have to figure out how to use and reuse what little equipment is available to you. Be careful to check all the elements, because everything is useful.

If you're struggling to get started:

[ hint ]
The first task is to make it possible to teleport upstairs. Find some good angles. After that, find another good angle so that you can teleport upstairs again, this time from another place.

If you're struggling to open the door upstairs:

[ hint ]
Look carefully at the fan in the first circular room downstairs.

If you're afraid to jump down:

[ hint ]
Don't be, the teleporter is visible, even when it is on top of one of the pressure plates.

If you're struggling to find a good angle for the accumulator:

[ hint ]
This isn't a question of getting the angle exactly right. You have to figure out how to open the door for the charging to work.
