Notes

The hex string is broken in several parts, but when recombined, it says "To create a little flower is the labour of ages", which is in line with the state of mind Athena (1) displays in this journal.

"Make an apple pie from scratch" is a reference to the ninth episode of the science documentary Cosmos: A Personal Voyage (1980) starring Carl Sagan.
