A Switch Out of Reach is a puzzle in World A1 of The Talos Principle.

Puzzle Elements

Overview

This puzzle requires the player to overcome both a Turret and a Guard using only a single Jammer. Notably, a Switch is connected to the Turret. However, the Switch is initially unreachable without walking through the Turret's line of sight.

Hints

Hints given are sequenced in order of ascending bluntness (as you proceed from the top down, the hints become more and more obvious).

A Switch in the off position disables whatever it is attached to.

There is no such thing as a double negative in The Talos Principle.

Solution

Using the Jammer, jam the Turret. Then, go past the Turret and up the stairs on the left to flip the Switch. You can then pick your Jammer back up without re-enabling the Turret (its Switch is now inactive). Jam the Guard and pick up the Sigil.
